Palestine-Israel - Neither One State nor Two but Workers’ Internationalism

Deportations, destruction, massacres of innocent and defenceless citizens: the bloody cycle which recommenced more than a year ago with the Nazi-style provocation of Sharon has tragically accelerated. Yet Israeli mini-imperialism has always had a free hand. Thanks to the US veto in the UN Israel has been allowed the luxury of invading territory which no international law could possibly permit and...

How to Fight for Peace

Regions:
Publications:

Mounting demonstrations against war have shown that there is massive public resistance and we have to salute all those who are taking part in the movement against it. However we have also to warn against false friends. Those who are campaigning (like the Daily Mirror) for war to take place only after a United Nations resolution are actually preparing us for war.

Editorial

Firemen’s strike · As we go to press the first 8 day strike by the firemen is underway. It is now clear that the government torpedoed the 16% agreement reached by the fire Brigades Union (FBU) and the employers. The government fears 16% for the firemen could set the precedent for other public sector workers to follow and this would be intolerable.

Firefighters' strike

(Image - Firefighters on education workers’ picket line; but really effective joint action requires going beyond union control) · Spread the strikes! Stop the War Drive! · It’s not so long ago that Tony Blair was crowing about the end of class struggle. The working class, however, is still alive and kicking. The firefighters’ strike is the first for 25 years and comes at a time of growing unrest.

Countdown to war with Iraq

(Conformity, blind allegiance, complacency, uniformity and silence are also useful in the war against the working class) · The UN resolution passed on 8th November 2002 has started the clock ticking for the US’s new war with Iraq. The period of manoeuvring and phoney opposition to the US by its rivals has ended with the US achieving more or less everything it wanted.

Formation of the Internationalist Workers Group (U.S. & Canada)

Communiqué on IBRP work in North America · The editors of Internationalist Notes (Canada) and Internationalist Notes (U.S.) met last spring in Montreal to discuss how best to advance the International Bureau for the Revolutionary Party’s work in this part of the world. This meeting followed the IBRP’s break with the ultra-localist Los Angeles Worker’s Voice as well as other more encouraging...

Communism Against the War Drive

(Image - Time to co-ordinate the class struggle resistance to imperialist war) · Intervention or Monasticism? · RP26 carried details of CWO’s participation in the Sheffield No War But the Class War group ( and our attempts to build a strong co-ordination around opposition to the war drive based on the politics of class struggle.

Imperialism’s coming war

We are publishing below the text of a leaflet handed out by the Partito Comunista Internazionalista (Battaglia Comunista), our sister organisation in the IBRP, at the European Social Forum held in Florence, 6th-10th November. · US imperialism is on the verge of once again launching death and destruction on the Iraqi population.

The Palestinian tragedy

People:

We are publishing below an article from our sister organisation Battaglia Comunista which they published in the April edition of their paper. Although it is now 6 months since the text was written, it expresses very well the tragedy of the Palestinian proletariat. These months, which have brought further horrible butchery of workers in the area, show the proletariat is being crushed between the...

Imperialism’s new world order

In 1990, Bush Senior announced the dawn of a “New World Order”. What he was really announcing was that, following the defeat of Russian imperialism, the US would now create its own new world order. The old division of the world into two opposing imperialist blocs, that had been the result of World War II, had now ended and a new division of the world was to be carried out, a division in which the...
