INTERNATIONALISM IN A TIME OF WAR

PUBLIC MEETING AND DISCUSSION

Internationalism is never more crucial than during wartime. The big imperialists use the smaller nations as pawns and send the working-class to die to protect the wealth of their ruling-class, while the world working class has neither property nor nation to defend. So-called revolutionaries and reformists show their true colours and line up behind one country or another in the name of social justice, national liberation, or anti-fascism. In truth, they are only participating in the capitalist drive to war. Our viewpoint, as internationalist communists, is always rooted in class struggle. We fight for no nation, only for the working-class in revolution. Class war is the war to end war.

In this meeting, we'll give an overview of internationalism and what it means to communists; we'll provide a history of the relation between Marxism, our tendency, and nationalist war; we will bring this context to today's situation and the current imperialist proxy wars; and we'll discuss what can be done by internationalists in the face of these wars.
