New joint Internationalist Notes #A good start!

The new joint US and Canadian Internationalist Notes (IN) published last November has been just about sold out. Both the French and English editions were distributed by the hundreds in the two countries were we operate and also sent to a considerable amount of subscribers and correspondents in other countries of the world. Our bulletins and leaflets have been passed out at anti-war demonstrations and meetings from Chicago, Illinois to small mining towns in Northern Ontario and Quebec. The crisis caused by the upcoming war gives revolutionaries a unique opportunity to expose the true nature of the capitalist system of exploitation and oppression, so we have been doing our best to reach out as much as we can. We are happy to report that we have been getting some modest but real results. A much more solid subscribers base is being attained with new subscriptions coming in almost every week. Some have real political differences with us. This is more than understandable, as Communist Left positions are still very new to the great majority of workers here. One Montreal reader wrote: " I don't agree with everything you write but I just had to subscribe after reading your Laberge article" (a denunciation of a union misleader). Others also expressed differences but have agreed to take copies of the bulletin for deposits in local bookshops. The geographical location of a good number of our new subscribers also indicates to us that some people are getting to know us via the Internet. We call on all these new readers to send in more comments, more detailed criticisms of our positions as well as reports on local situations, strikes and other submissions for the bulletin.

We also are happy to report that our bulletin has received good comments from readers in European countries and fraternal greetings from two Communist Left publications that are not associated with our international network (the IBRP). Articles saluting our work have thus been published in Le Prolétariat Universel (Paris) and the Bulletin Communiste, the publication of the Internal Fraction of the International Communist Current (Mexico/France). Finally, this short report would be incomplete without thanking comrades P (Toronto), RJ and M (Montreal), Cel. (Parma), Goup. (Paris) and DD (Marseille) who have generously responded to our financial appeal and sent in much needed funds. In the coming weeks, Internationalist Workers' Group comrades will continue to reach out to workers everywhere we can to build a real internationalist communist organization in North America, as our contribution to laying the foundations of the indispensable future International Party of the Working Class. We call on all our readers to join us in this crucial task.
